( Brand: Cat ), ( Manufacturer Part Number: 43339 ), ( Part Type: Pump Head )
The Cat 43339 triplex pump head is a critical component of Caterpillar's heavy-duty hydraulic systems, designed to deliver high volume and pressure for various industrial applications. This triplex pump head is engineered to provide efficient and reliable fluid transfer, ensuring optimal performance in construction, mining, and forestry machinery, among others.
The Cat 43339 triplex pump head comes in a cast iron housing, which offers solid durability against wear and tear. The pump head features three identical working pistons, each with a plunger and a check valve. This design allows the pump head to deliver oil to the hydraulic motor at a consistent rate, resulting in precise motion control for various hydraulic cylinders and motors.
When it comes to rebuilding this pump head, the process involves careful disassembly, inspection of components for damage, cleaning, repairing or replacing worn parts, and reassembly. Rebuilding the Cat 43339 triplex pump head ensures the continued performance and longevity of your hydraulic system.
Some parts that may need replacement during a rebuild include:1. Plungers: These hydraulically driven pistons may become worn, causing leaks or reduced efficiency. When rebuilding, replacement plungers are typically made from materials like Bronze or Tungsten Carbide, designed for durability and resistance to wear.
2. Check Valves: These valves are hydraulically actuated, allowing one way flow and preventing backflow. Over time, they can wear out, leading to inefficient operation or even failure. New, OEM check valves are crucial components for a successful rebuild.
3. Full Flow filters: Contaminants in hydraulic fluid can create damage during operation. Rebuilding offers an excellent opportunity to replace the full flow filter, keeping the hydraulic system clean and free of debris.
The rebuilding process starts with the careful disassembly of the pump head. Each component is inspected for wear and damage. Worn components are repaired or replaced as necessary. New seals are installed, and the internal surfaces of the casting are machined to ensure good seal contact. The hiring of a certified professional mechanic or pump rebuilder with expertise in Caterpillar pumps is highly recommended for successful Cat 43339 triplex pump head rebuilding.
A properly rebuilt Cat 43339 triplex pump head will offer optimal performance and efficiency for your hydraulic system. The rebuild process helps minimize overall downtime and save costs compared to replacing the entire pump head in some cases, making it an attractive solution for industry professionals.
Considering the need for maintaining or repairing a Cat 43339 triplex pump head, rebuilding it may be a viable option instead of purchasing a new one. In this analysis, we will discuss both the advantages and disadvantages of rebuilding this part to aid in your decision-making process.
Parts Availability and Cost: Advantages:1. Cost-effective: Rebuilding the pump head is generally less expensive than buying a new one. This is especially true if the pump is already in good condition and only the head requires replacement.
2. Original Equipment: Rebuilding ensures that replacement parts are genuine and meet the original specifications of the Caterpillar triplex pump.
Disadvantages:1. Labor Costs: The cost of labor for disassembling, rebuilding, and reassembling the pump head can be significant. You might need to hire a professional or a trained technician to do the job.
Durability and Reliability: Advantages:1. Long-term Solution: A rebuilt pump head will last as long as a new one, provided that the materials are of high quality and the rebuilding process is done correctly.
2. Worn Components Replaced: Rebuilding allows you to replace any worn-out parts during the process, ensuring the entire head is performing optimally.
Disadvantages:1. Risk of Overlooking Damage: There is always a possibility that other components may be damaged or need replacement during the rebuild process. These additional repairs could potentially increase the overall cost.
Conclusion:Rebuilding a Cat 43339 triplex pump head is a cost-effective solution that ensures the installation of original equipment components. However, this process comes with labor costs and the risk of encountering additional repairs during the rebuilding process due to hidden damage. Consider the overall condition of the pump and your budget before deciding to rebuild or replace the pump head entirely.
Recommendation:Should the decision be to rebuild, ensure the parts used are of high quality and the rebuilding process is done by a competent technician. This will minimize the risk of encountering unexpected issues and ensure the longevity of the rebuilt pump head. If the budget allows, consider purchasing a new triplex pump head to avoid the potential labor and hidden costs associated with the rebuilding process.
I don't honestly know how much PSI this pump puts out. So it needs a rebuild. Anyway I m just trying to get rid of this one cheap not in the business anymore. Its 11.5 long pump itself is 6.6 at the widest if that helps.
The right main Bering is loose I don't know about the top end pics probably can tell you more than it. The 43339 numbers are the only ones anywhere I can find. I would expect its 3000 or more. I do know these pumps can be rebuilt i've had several of them brought back from near death.
